Epic failure...

Sorry for the thread name but unfortunately it is true Yesterday when I had to drive to OH and than to IL and than back to IN with the trailer... my headunit failed on me (( So it went into this "Fail Safe Mode" and nothing worked, but radio (no navi, no bluetooth, etc.)... I was so pissed because I needed the navigation and just driving for 10+ hours with listening to the stupid radio... oh well.. now I feel better...
So this is what I got:

So I took the truck to the dealer today and of course it is a hard drive failure and the whole unit needs to be replaced.... I am so frustrated because I spent 7+ hours downloading and organizing my music to the jukebox... And of course the truck is less than a month old, so it is really frustrating...

that sucks. sorry to hear that. can anything be saved from the old drive? sometimes (at least with PC's) you can still manage to get things off of the bad drives.

the code shows that actually it is the hard drive that caused all this mess and of course ford stealership is not gonna bother with trying to save my data, they will just swap the whole unit and call it a day

LOL I haven't been very impressed with Sirius at all. The only time I click it on is when I want to browse the 3 comedy channels for some laughs. Otherwise I don't use it at all. Not sure how much it is to actually pay for the service, but hopefully the cost is infinitesmal, otherwise it isn't worth it.

I find the talk channels on Sirius to be worth the subscription fee, especially if you drive long distances. As for the music programming on Sirius, I'm indifferent.

Glad to hear it was resolved quickly -

Makes me think a little harder about getting an ESP plan that would cover the NAV unit and all the other electronics in these vehicles.

Wow, sorry to hear that your hard drive failed...they make a little blue pill (or so I have heard anyway) for that problem JK, seriously, I do hope yours was a rare example and these things don't start failing on a more regualr basis...good to hear it's already repaired!!

As far a Sirious (sp?), I do use it and i think you will probably have to keep the subscription to keep the Sirious Travel link (which I use everyday and think is awesome)...from weather, to travel information to movies, fav sports scores...pretty cool
