4" lift kits?

I realize I probably have a year before I buy an F150, but was just looking for a lift kit and I couldn't find any 3-4" lift kits available. Does anyone know of any that might be in the works? I would prefer not to go larger than that, but would like to stay away from leveling kits as well. I'm basically not looking to go larger than a 35" tire, but at the same time I don't want it to rub anywhere at full flex. I would also like to keep my bed at a somewhat functional level. The higher it is, the harder it is to load stuff into.

If anyone has any info on future 4" lift kits, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for the info AgDoctor. Rancho is a pretty good brand too. Any specific info for it yet as far as what is included (what shocks, AAL, etc)? Any info on pricing?

Other than Rancho, does anyone know of any other 4" lift kits coming out? Seems like they are falling out of favor with the truck buying public (at least the F150). For the pre-96 models and even the 97-03 models, there are a handful of 4" lift kits available from several aftermarket companies.

I have been contacted several manufacturers and rancho is the only one that MIGHT have one. Everyone else said they had no plans at this time to make a 3-4" lift.....

That's pretty lame... I've really got no desire to lift my truck any higher than that. I guess I might have to settle with a mild leveling kit and an AAL if none come out.

On the other hand, I wonder what some of those 6" lifts actually measure out to? I might consider one if they measure smaller than what they advertise.

I think they are pretty legit. I am of the same opinion as you. I have parking issues here in socal. When I am home in Missouri - no probs. A 6 inch lift puts me into the trouble with parking category....A 3-4 inch lift is doable and would let me put 35 inch tires without issue.

I am now looking into a level kit with aal. If you do a search of the 2009 thread you can find some info. Do a search for "level" or "leveled" and "lifted" in the 2009 thread. Deeregeff and sporttrac have trucks with 6" lifts and they are great with providing info. Drdug has a leveled fx4 that has a good setup - as well as many others who I forget their forum ids. On the 6" lifts it is important to remember that it is not a straight 6" lift. Think of it shifting on a pivot point since the truck has a stock rake to it. That will effect the overall height. It is tough to find good pics to make a decision on the level kits that would be close to what setup each of us are considering!

I am going out today to tire/wheel shops to try and find one who has dealt with a 2009 f150. Will pass along what I find. Trying to find that perfect backspace/offset/tire combo that looks good on a 09 f150!

I contacted BDS suspension - they have a level kit that they say will do 35" tires but the pic they use is not very good to judge. They have not sent me anymore pics.

I saw this lifted FX4 at North Central Ford in Richardson, TX. I assume is it 4-6" and I think it was Pro Comp...

several manufacturers have the 6". Racnho has the 4" coming, just not out yet. the shcoks are interchangeable form the different types of Racnho shocks at least. i plan on the black 4" lift, skid plates, and the wireless readylift adjuster system. Cant wait!!! in the meantime, i did a 2-1/2 level adn 1-1/2 AAL so i could fit 35's

I cant wait for the 4" lift either. I think it will be a nice compromise between the 6" lift and the 2.5 level. Until then I have to do the leveling route like you have done and probably the AAL as I haul around alot of tools to and from jobs. Just my toolbox empty is 400lbs and that again with the tools that go in it.

I wonder if the 4" rancho lift will work with 18" rims?

they say no. there is one manufacturer trying to make it work with 18's, but there are front knuckle clearance issues.
