Aftermarket Brake Controllers?

Where did everyone mount these that doesn't have the factory one?

Its a long shot but since this is the 2009 F-150 topic area, I'm gonna guess he's got a 2009.

Why not get the factory controller?
You can install it yourself - then just have your dealer program your computer to recognize it.

I already own this one out of my 07 Titan.

I previously used a Tekonsha P3. The best aftermarket controller available IMO. After using the Ford integrated brake controller, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend investing in one. The Ford IBC worked absolutely seamlessly with the trailer brakes. Incredibly smooth. The best by far I've ever used.

I'm not one for recommending unnecessary investments. I'm not about the flash and finish when it comes to my truck. My truck is a piece of equipment, not a garage queen I can spent countless hours on making it shine. IMO the IBC is a worthwhile investment. Just my 2 cents.

I could not get the factory controller when I bought my truck. I had this new in the box.
I put it the same hole as the factory location. The controller works great. If I get a deal on the ford version I will buy one.

I already owned a Prodigy P3 and loved it - but sold it here on the classified when I went with the Ford IBC

I agree the Prodigy is a great controller, but until you pull with the Ford IBC, you won't realize the difference.

As said above - the Ford IBC blows any other controllers away by far - plus it looks so good being integrated into the dash.

At the time I could not even order the factory controller. The prodigy does work well with no issues.
