Ok- for those of you who followed my long thread about F-150 or Tundra (I was trying to decide which one to buy) ... I may have found the one.
(for those of you who didn't follow the thread, I decided to go with a F-150 SCREW - that's the short version).
Here is what I currently have for a decision point:
-F-150 Screw (2WD - what I want)
-Lariat Plus Pkg
-Lariat Chrome
-Sony Nav
-3.55 limited slip
-Power moonroof
-20' aluminum wheels
-trailer brake controller
-Lthr trimmed captain chairs
She's white sand tri-coat with tan leather interior. From what I can tell, she has just about all the bells and whistles I can handle. In fact, I was considering a Platinum until I saw/drove this one.
MSRP = $44,320
Invoice = $39,934.75
After a long day of some serious haggling/negotiating, they've offered to sell me this truck for $34,434.00 (not a typo)
After TT&L (as well as a b.s. "document fee" of $50.00), my "drive off" price would be $36,829.90.
What say you? Based on what all I've seen and read, this would be a pretty solid deal for this level of truck.

I"m frugal to the extreme so with that in mind here's my opinion.
Not a bargain imo.
Great truck you'll love it and no doubt be really happy with it. But as far as a great deal a couple of months ago would of been the time to buy. Probably in another month or two when the stock market goes back down and the gas prices rise again you'll start seeing the rebates flying off again.
Buying used you can find some really nice deals as well. I purchased a 04 Screw Lariat with all the bells and whistle for 12,500. Only had 75k miles on it and is an amazing truck! Really been enjoying it.
But I'm a tight wade what do i know
Good luck with your purchase

I consider myself pretty frugal as well, but have decided to buy new.... so it will NEVER be as good a deal as buying used -- that's a given.
Looks like I can drive off the lot at 78% of MSRP. Based on what I've seen, that is a pretty good deal.
Doesn't mean I am too afraid to ask for more off........

IMO that's a killer deal. At least be happy that your document fee is pretty cheap, my dealer's was like $349.50 or something (since I was paying cash I told 'em I wasn't paying it). 78% off MSRP is a steal and from what I've read about as good as you're gonna get.
I think it is a good deal, very fair for both sides.
And it looks like all of the major options are there, so you won't be regretting not having something later on.
So go for it and enjoy! They really are a fantastic truck!
Just wish I had the option of the tan leather in my FX4

My out the door price, including TT&L, fees, everything, would be $36,829.90.
(the sales price being $34,434... close to 10K off of the 44320.00 MSRP).
I may consider an extended warranty since the sales price will end up being significantly less than I was prepared to pay (especially given that I was considering a Platinum, but have now decided against it for personal reasons).

Of course, the other reason I wanted to think about it overnight was so I could come on here and hear what you all had to say about the options/purchase price.
Bed length is 5.5.... I know that may make some people say it isn't a "Real" truck.... but I have to have the short bed because of my downtown parking garage. The 5.5 will be difficult enough... 6.5 and I'd just be asking for a dinged fender or bumper on a concrete column.
I'm going to push a little harder to see if I can get a little more off, or maybe some "Freebies" like a bedliner, floor mats, etc. Will keep you posted on how it goes today. I am leaning towards doing the deal.

The 5.5 bed length is OK. The 6.5 is just more useful. The turning radius is tight in a parking garage. I park mine in one at work. Keeps it out of the sun.
20% off is a great deal from what I read on this site.

Okay. Looks like the deal is done. I pushed for a little extra, and got some additional concessions (hey, "you don't ask you don't get").
Below is my email exchange with the dealership... I am not including the sales rep's name just in case he (or she) would prefer to not be known. Thanks for the comments, especially the healthy debate when I was deciding whether to get a Tundra or the F-150.
Here is the email:
Just to confirm our phone call (and so there is no surprises for either of us later when I arrive),
We'll stick with the $34,434.00 purchase price (which will come out to around $36,829.90 "off the lot").
This price will include:
-Adding a spray-in bedliner
-Adding matching floor mats
-Adding matching tint on front windows
Let me know if I have missed something, or if this is accurate. Thank you.

I will post pics when I get her all cleaned up. She looks very similar to PKVIR's nice ride.
