Having Trouble with Sync

I have an 09 XLT with the standard radio and sync. The phone button stopped working and so did the sync button. Any ideas on what is wrong? I haven't done anything to the system and it was working flawlessly the other day.

I push the phone button and nothing happens.

I push the sync button and nothing happens.

Seems like you have a date with the dealer in your future. Perhaps the steering wheel controls have gone bad? Dunno, but let the dealer find out for you.

Happened once to me the day after I got my truck home. I pulled the sync fuse, turned the key on, turned it off, put the fuse back in and it worked when I turned the key back on. My reasoning is that it does say Microsoft on the front so I'd try a reboot before taking it in. Haven't had the problem since, but if I do, I plan to take it in.

I think I remeber seeing a Sycn reboot process. It is a computer after all, and we all know how reliable those are.

Depending on your phone, make sure the its radio is turned on or the truck might not know its even there.

I believe the is a reset for sync in the main menu. The process is outlined in the sync manual. Not to hard and may save you a couple of hours at the dealer.

But you can't get to the reset when this issue occurs. When it happened, it was like I didn't even have Sync installed.

Did you try the menu **** on the dash? This will take you to the sync menu. Is this not working as well? Start the truck and wait a minute. then hit the menu button.

My snyc was acting up and I have a thumb drive I use to "refresh" sync with. Gives sync something different to look at and clear out the cobwebs.

I can't speak for the OP but on mine nothing sync-related worked. No way to get to it from the steering wheel or head unit buttons.

Thanks for all of the input...I'll try some of these suggestions this weekend. I did plug my iPhone into the usb today and it did NOT even charge, so I think it may be the fuse suggestion mentioned above.
