Reving the engine in Park
Reving the engine in Park
Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is just my not being used to a truck (or the 5.4 engine), but I find that when the truck is in park, if I rev the engine a little (not too much), when it revs down, the engine has a slight shake to it (which kind of rocks the truck).
Is this normal?

No no, I'm not talking about reving the crap out of the truck in park, I'm just talking about a quick blip of the pedal. Even to just bring down the RPMs.
This shouldn't harm the truck, and shouldn't cause the truck to shake a little.
In all other cars I've owned, it hasn't shown this type of behavior.
That's perfectly normal.

i cant say for sure but i dont think its true. in the winter time i always go out and crank my truck and hold the pedal to the floor for about 5 minutes to get the heater warm. no problems yet.
If you leave the oil out of the engine it will heat up faster. All that oil is robbing heat-producing friction from your engine.
