I just took the whole dash apart and it was a ***** to take apart to get to the nav. The nav is held in by 6 screws you cant get to unless you take the whole front dash face plate of and that alone is a nightmere. I found the VSS cable which i though would be the same as the 08 and i cut it then tried the nav and it still locked the system out when using POI's. It is either using another wireing method or it is useing the nav to work out how fast you are going. Im waiting on some 09 wireing diagrams to check to see if pin 14 is still the VSS cable. So do waste your time trying this until get i get the diagrams back.

 

Hmmm, sounds like it may have been a good idea to get those diagrams before starting this project huh?

 

Yeah tell me about it. I used the 2008 diagrams as they use the exact same plug on the back of the 1st gen nav units so i guessed they would have kept the wire in the same place.
