Doesn't someone have to be sitting in the seat for them to turn on?

heat want even turn on unless the motor is running.soon as you cut it off the heat turns off.you have to turn it on every time you recrank the motor.

clicky

I would do it by adding a relay in line with the switch like so. If you click the "clicky" link it will show you how to wire that relay it is pretty straight forward and it will be done the correct way.

Not following

If the seats are on the canbus its still possible to simulate pressing the button isn't it. I mean if you momentarily close the same contacts that the button is closing how does the canbus know?

If you have heated seats only, then you can probably get it to work (although I haven't heard of anyone successfully doing it yet). This was being discussed in the "remote starter" thread on here. However, if you also have cooled seats, then it can't be easily done since it is controlled via the canbus.

As for simulating the button press, you would have to hack open the module which the button is part of as it isn't "standalone"...not something I would recommend doing unless you had a spare module lying around.
