Jack location

Hey all! New member to the site. After debating whether to buy my 2007 F150 off the lease or go for it and buy a 2009,I decided on the 2009 after reading what you guys were saying about the new ones, and boy you were right. Much improvement over the old one. Picked up my dark blue pearl f150 on Monday. Pictures will be coming soon when it gets cleaned up after the rain we have been having and I figure out how to post pictures. With all that being said,I have a question about the jack. I am assuming that the jack is in the black box under the back seat(supercrew),but how does the box come loose? I saw a couple of black wing nuts back there that were pretty tight and did not want to force them.

Yep pull the tray out then remove the two wing nuts. You won't break them. Then pull the black box out. It fits in there pretty tight. The scissor jack and tire iron fit very compactly inside so remember how it goes if you take it out. Took me awhile to put it back together.

Thanks broncobran68. Not fun trying to figure out how to get the jack out when your sitting along side the freeway somewhere!

Well, here she is!! Just washed before the next rain. Not the best picture but you get the idea. Just one more XLT in a sea of FX4's and Platinums. There are a few more pics in my album.

Thanks. Seems like all my past trucks were black or red,so I thought I would go with blue this time. Really stands out against the silver.

Never realized how big those towing mirrors really are until I saw them in pics above. Those mirrors have to drag down the highway fuel mileage by 1 or 2 mpg. Flying bugs must be horrified knowing those towing mirrors exist.

The dark blue pearl paint is nice - I test drove one in that color. Enjoy the ride.

They are big but at least they dont look stupid like the dodge towing mirrors. I never see something so stupid looking on a truck until i see these. They hang about 3ft out either side.

Hey, I am doing my share of ridding the world of those pesky bugs!

I have to say that I LOVE and HATE these mirrors! I can see better that ever before. No more blind spots. However, have to pull them in when doing a drive up ATM or teller at the bank. Either that or have my arm stretched another foot.

The tow mirrors are large but they're great for towing. An absolute necessity for anyone towing a large trailer. I just wish they were power-fold.

I seem to be getting slightly better mileage than most so it doesn't seem like they have much of a detrimental effect on mpg.
