Moonroof Noise.

Hey all,

I have a 09 Lariat Screw and have noticed very loud wind noise coming from the closed moonroof at highway speeds. Anyone else experiencing this? I've had it for a couple of months but have only been really noticing it lately. I have to close the inner roof to lessen the noise. It may have always been this way.

Thanks.

No noise from the Moonroof at any speed here when it's closed. Try to open and close it fully each way to see if the noise goies away otherwise I hate to say it but take it into the dealer to be fixed.

moonroof

Thanks. I did take it in today and while they acknowledged a problem, they said they didn't know how to fix it and were awaiting word from Ford as to how to proceed. The ticket is still open but the sound is getting louder and louder. Weird because there is no water leak. I may take it to another dealer. I haven't driven or been in any other 09's so I really have nothing to compare it to.

Fixed

The dealer had to replace the entire glass and that did the trick. Quiet now like its supposed to be.

They just told me that is was a little misshapen. Just enough to make a fluttering wind noise. I got used to it over time, but my bro-n-law noticed it the first time he got in and said it was "hurricane-force." The new glass doesn't look any different to the eye.

Were you able to keep the glass?

I didn't even think of it since it was covered under warranty.

My bro used to have to do that when he worked for VW. They had a 1 week old VW bettle that had a wireing loom problem and the whole loom shorted and melteded into one bundle. They had to strip the car down to it's bare chassis and send the old loom back to VW. I would have been pissed if that was my car lol
