Dealer story ...

Well i was going to take the plunge and get an 09. Dealer didnt have the lariat with the options i wanted so i figured wth and looked at a king ranch and i really liked it. After 3 hrs they took 3k off and wanted to giv me 1.5k less than i owe on my 07. I told them to come back with even trade and a little more on King Ranch and we'd talk. No go wouldnt budge. So we left.

lo and behold not 10 mins from when we left they could "manage" to take off another 3k. told them its to late they lost the sale and continued on my way home .... Ford must not be hurting to much because it seems they really dont want to sell to badly

Time to hit up the internet departments (how i bought my last one)!

There's $3k in rebates so $3k should have been taken off before you even walked in the door.

Go to the next dealership and start over.

When I bought my 06 I had alot of negative equity on my old car. The final price to be financed was 36,500ish. I told them to get it back down to 31,000 OTD. She though i was kidding and I got up and walked out. She caught me in the parking lot and said "are you serious with that price Mr. Pritchard" I said yes man.

Right now might now be a good time to buy me one, Ill come back another time. She managed to me back in her office and 1 hour later I signed paper work for 31,000 with 3.9 percent rate. So there out there, now only if I could find another deal maker so I could get a screw but really I need to wait untill wifey lands this position!

you hear stories like this all the time, but geez after 3 hours you would have thought they would have came off that 3k if they knew you were serious about buying. Of course they are going to stick to the higher price at first...

Some dealers do this routine to see how much you are willing to pay and how eager you are to drive away in the new vehicle. Don't take it personally. Just look for the best price. Sometimes the best situation is having two or more dealers competing for your business (notice the word sometimes).

$10k off MSRP of a KR before you even mention you have something to trade. I have no idea what you owe on your 07, or what it is worth, but $10k is a good target for a $45k+ KR.

theres certain dealers that ambush you when your 2 feet onto the dealer asking you what you want or how they can help, then you say im just looking then they look at you like your retarded, then you tell them you want a powerstroke and they say they dont sell those even though they got 35 superduties in front of them. then theres the good ones where theres one or 2 sales people that wait for you to come to them and they actually know stuff about the vehicles they are selling
