Leveling Kit: 1 or 2 Piece

Need all the info I can get on the differences? From what I know the 1 piece puts the ball joint in a bad position if the lower suspension drops since there in no more spring. The 2 piece compresses the spring to add more spring in case of lower arm drop.

Also considering Rancho Quicklift. Heard it is offered for 2009 but not online yet.

Recommendations and Experiences???

Best tires for stock 17" FX4 wheels after level? Mostly on-road with the occasional weekend off-road ride. Thinking about new Wrangler DuraTrac.

Don't know what you mean about a one or two piece. I used an Auto Spring 2 1/2" kit on the front. Only if you go over a 3" lift will you have potential trouble. You can pick a AS kit up off eBay for about $75 and they ship really fast.

What I mean is that some 2" lifts are just added to the top of the coilover (Readylift for ex.). But if you look at Skyjacker or BDS, they have a plate that put a small amount of preload on the coil spring, so when the lower a-arm drops it has more spring and doesn't bind on your ball joints.

Really, the only difference in the two is that the one piece designs are much, much easier to install. They both function the same.

Yes i know they function the same, but do you get any benefit from compressing the spring. I hear it allows for more range of motion and prevents binding the ball joint.

If increasing performance is your goal then buy a performance lift...
