Just curious if anyone may know a way around this problem....Bought a used saleen and the previous owner never used or programmed his own code for the truck and the factory default is nowhere to be found written down anywhere....and the wallet cards that came with the truck are long since gone apparently. The manual says the factory default code is always in the ecm even when you store your own and that it can be found stamped on the ecm. I cant find the ecm...my lightning it was in the paseenger side kick panel (thats a fuse box in this 07), and what appears to be the ecm to me under the hood next to the firewall on the passenger side says its the saleen power train control module. Called a local ford dealer and they told me to retrieve that factory code they have to plug it into their computer and pull it up and they charge 50 bucks for it. Not that I mind paying 50 bucks ( a locksmith will cost just as much if i lock the keys up minus the weather stripping damage) but that sounds extreme for a procedure that literally will take then 5 minutes to do. Does anybody have any insight on this...are they just trying to rip me off and is the code really written on the ecm.....if so can someone please direct me to the correct location of the ecm so I can get it? Thanks..........oh btw its a 07 f150 saleen if that makes any difference.
