When will I see my Platinum

Anybody have any clue on how long it takes to get a truck after it's been ordered? I've had a Platinum on order since the first of October. Getting really anxious!

Interesting, I just ordered an FX4 before the first of the year and was told to expect it by Mid February at the latest. Seems odd you don't have it by now. I would check back with who you ordered through and have them check the status.

could it possibly be some vendor issues which make certain options just for the platinum which caused the delay ? I remember having that kind of a problem back when i ordered a 1997 F-150.

I ordered mine on 9/24 and received it 1/5. HOWEVER, this was affected by initial production ramp up and the holidays. (Apparently it sat on a railcar for a week). I believe most dealers quote 60 days.

What did your dealer tell you?

Oh, btw, I also read some where they only produce the Platinum on 1 line in Dearborn, and that only 1 out of 5 trucks on that line is a Platinum.

Okay, I just got off the phone with my salesman. He now tells me that it has been shipped and he has the railcar number. I assume that is pretty good news. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes now to get here. It's almost worse getting an idea of when it will be here. The anticipation is killing me. Thanks for the input!

Well, my truck showed up today! Let me tell you that the Platinum is the nicest truck I have ever seen. It is a very plush, yet tough truck. I love the interior. I think that I could sleep in this thing. I have waited until last May for this truck. If you are a fan of the F-150, and I know you are, you will love this truck. Go get one!

I paid $47,000 for my Platinum, and it was worth every penny. I didn't get anything off MSRP other than the regular incentives. However, I did get $19,000 for my 2006 XLT trade in. I thought that was pretty good!

47 Grand! Ouch!

I've never ordered a car before, do you start paying on it when it gets delivered or when you order it?

For that price there better not be any option left off. Congrats on the new toy

You typically have to make a deposit when you order. In my case, my deposit was $500. It is non-refundable, so if you don't purchase the vehicle, you lose it. Then when the vehicle arrives, you 'purchase' it, meaning you take retail delivery.

In this market, it is very rare to pay MSRP, so be sure to negotiate the best deal you can WHEN YOU ORDER. Typically no more than $500 over invoice.

Good luck!
