Ford Build and Price

The Ford Build and Price server is down. I wonder if that means they are adjusting the prices lower so we can all get new trucks without breaking the bank?

I think the prices are great at the moment. dont expect them to fall i have heard they are going to be increased. I also heard that the rebates and 0.0%APR were also going to be reduced and removed but only time will tell.

I have to wonder about the interest and incentives. I have watched a few dealers lots that have had a couple Lariats and one with a Platinum for over 3 weeks or so. NOT moving. You would think Ford will keep and or enhance any incentives. Just my 2 cents.

The problem is the 09's ain't a lot more expensive than the 08's. If they discount the any more then they will be cheaper than the 08's. I cant see them doing anything better than what they are currently offering. It would be great though if they did but i doubt they will. At least they should carry on what they are running for the next few months.
They are in the same position as bestbuy, circuit city and so on. They have so much stock and they need to get rid of it but they are not willing to reduce the stuff enough to get people to start buying. They are digging their own graves from being so greedy.

I'm not sure I like the new build and price. It doesn't seem as easy to use as the old one. Well that's just my two cents worth.

In regards to the new site, I don't know if I should be P***ed or excited. The site will let me build a black Lariat truck W/stone grey interior, but when I try to build the same truck in bright red it will not let me. WTF?

Well with the economy in the condition it is in they will either lower prices or sit on inventory and eventually file for bankruptcy so I would wait it out. Bottom line is if the aren't selling them with the current incentives they deff won't sell them if they raise prices. They still have 08's to get rid if as well so as soon as they are gone they will prob put at least 3-5k cash back to start making room on the lots.

I was at the dealerships today for the first time checking out '09's in person, specifically the Plat version.

Without posting my thoughts yet, I will just add that they were offering $5,500 off the 2008's on their lot. They had a good number left, including at least one of the Lariat Limited (white sand tri-coat colored) version they did back in early '08. The salesmen told me they are not doing any incentives at all on the 2009's. This seemed like total bs to me, but I didn't push the issue since A. I would never buy a new vehicle in the middle of the winter driving season and B. I would never buy a Platinum without knowing if remote start is actually possible on it.

PS Was rather dissapointed with the tri-coat white sand color, it is like a yellowy-white with no noticable metallic flecks in it. Very bland. I though it was supposed to be something special, obviously not. The Dark Toreador Red (or whatever they call it for '09) on an '09 XLT was much nicer looking, as was the Silver Frost (again, whatever they call it in '09) on an XLT '09. They also had some Oxford White 09's and one '09 in that really strange yellow-orange-gold color. That color is crap.

Yeah they are def BS you about the rebates for the 09's. Also you sure you was looking at the tri-sand colour as mine looks lovely in person. Very happy with the colour but my wife picked it. also was the sun out when you looked at it. It makes a massive difference.

Just the opposite, it was snowing. I'm sure I'll check it out again before making any decision.

I have to agree with Barritia about the prices being Great-now if you are trying to go from a Lease to a Lease, that a different story, you are in for a shock, the residual values are set so low on the leases, that the interest rate they are offering is irrelevant. I just ordered a 2009 lariat and got the best deal I have ever gotten In the last 7 trucks I got almost 10 grand of MSRP.

The Ford Build and Price website bombs out in the middle of my session (after I select the options under Models and try to go to Packages). Does it do this for everyone or do I need to configure something in Internet Explorer differently? It returns an error message and bombs regardless of what zip code or options I enter.

How can they sell trucks when I can't even figure out which options are available with which models and other options? Is Ford trying to lose money or are they just inept at selling vehicles?

It works fine for me. Maybe try to clear your cookies/cache if you haven't already. Or try this link http://www81.forddirect.fordvehicles...l=&statetoken=

The build and price you are trying to use is beta so it doesn't surprise me too much that there may be bugs in it yet.

Thanks, that link worked fine. I wonder why they have a Beta version, does it have different features/prices than the old one?
