I see your in Chatsworth, so you know of Galpin. I called and talked to an internet sales guy who said they can do about 10k off an 08, he then said maybe even more.

Didnt ask about the 09's, but i plan on going there in a few weeks to see what kind of deals they can make. If its only a slight diff in price bewteen the 08 and 09 ill obviously go with the 09. If i do go with an 08 i want wheels, tires and a tonneau(sp?) included in the price

If you can get the 09 within 2-5k deping on what model then there's no doubt go with an 09. Drive both and you will see why. I got a platinum fully load which had a msrp of 50k and in total it cost me 41k all in. A fully loaded 08 in this area is only about 3-5k cheaper. The interior inprovments alone are worth the 09 over the 08 let alone all the little details.

Did you go through Galpin? If so, what salesman and how did you get them that low? If not Galpin, where did you go?

I went into Galpin a few weeks ago and wrote up an order for a fully loaded Platinum minus the towing package, and my salesman wants me to go in to finalize the deal. I was going to walk in there asking 43k OTD. How did you get it down to 41k? Thanks man!

I used the $3k rebate on the 09's and used a x-plan pin. I did get it at invoice first but then got a x-plan pin so that knocked about $200 more of the invoice price. That price was incudeing the tt&l as well. The only bits that i didnt get was the max trailer tow pack and the cargo managment system but did have to pay extra for the paint. You should easy be able to get around my price for a fully loaded. I had aother dealer in this area even beat their price so it can be done.

So you used a x-plan pin and then the $3k rebate on top of it? If you don't mind me asking, what dealer was it that offered to beat that price?

I used a dealer called berglund ford and the other dealer was magic city ford. They said they wernt worried about matching x-plan price as it was only such a small amount below the invoice price which every dealer is doing on 09 f150's. Def dont be paying more than invoive.

How much was your invoice if you don't mind me asking? BTW, I used you as an example for negotiations when speaking with my dealer, and it looks like I may be getting it for right around 40K OTD, no more than 41K like you tho. No x-plan price but I do know the manager personally so he's hooking it up. Thanks for all your help!

Not sure the exact invoice price before the rebates but it was about $43000 minus the rebates plus the TT&L which was about $1700 of the top of me head. If you can get it for 40-41k that would be a good price in my eyes.

Just so you know, I got that 40k-41k price from my dealership in maryland that i have a really strong connection with (6 cars in 5 years). i used galpin as a haggling point against my dealership. But, I was/am dealing with Galpin before and I know they're really lookin for those high end truck sales. On a truck with almost a 50k MSRP, i would say a good OTD price on it would be between 40k and 43k. Just depends on location, connection, and rebates. Good luck!

Hey guys didn't make it out to Galpin today but will go tomorrow and report back. The phone research i've done 40K OTD on a 50K 09 is a great price, they keep pushing the 08 with about a 12K discount with all the rebates plus T&L which doesn't seem much better then the 09?

So on the 09 what discounts and rebates are you guys using to get the truck down about 12K? What i would like to know how much are rebates and how much is dealer markdowns?

thanks again!

You would be very very very lucky to get a 50k loaded truck for anyless than 40k unless you work for ford or have a y or z plan pin which i dont think you could even get.
But like you say you can get about 10k of discount on a 09 or about 12-13k on a 08 so for the 3k extra for the 09 you would have to be crazy to go for a 08. Price's around your area seem to be the same as ours. I would have had no problem paying even 5-8k more for a loaded platinum or a loaded lariat 08 the platinum is a vast improvement luxery wise over the 08 lariat.

Thumbs up Update

Okay test drove both looks like 09 more room and like the 6 spd trans. Now for the price I've been told just the 3k incentives, other dealers 100 over and some 100 below invoice. Now what's better invoice price or xplan on the 09? Still trying to figure out the 10k discount some recieved! If I could get to 10k off msrp I would go buy today. So if you guys could break it down for me that would be great! Thanks
