Dont know where to start lol

The Good
First of all it looks nice. Very nice. Been getting a lot of people coming over and asking about it. Never thought that would happen with a truck.
The power deploy running boards are such an improvement over normal one's. Much more foot area and folds out of the way for less wind noise and a cleaner look to the truck. The wheels are also very nice. I liked them in the pics but in person they are awesome wheels. Leather on the seats is also very nice and the cooling function works really well. Better than i thought it would. Interior feels really classy and My bro in law wants to get the same truck just for that lol. The grill in person also looks a lot better than in photos. It's hard to explain the finish but it looks great.

The Bad
Gloss b pillars - They are a pig to keep from getting scratched up. I purchased some plastic polish and they are as good as new now.
The tailgate - I keep coming back to the truck and people seem to find the urge to touch it and leave fingers marks all over it lol.
Nav screen - Finger marks are all over it but nothing a quick wipe cant sort once a week.
Remote start - There is none!!!

The truck as a package has really impressed a lot of close friends, family and me. They are that impressed, that they are going to take a look at the Fords now. They are the kind of people who would never buy a ford as well lol. The sync/Nav truly is the best av/nav system on the market. I'm liking it more and more everyday.

I really cant fault it in any way. There was a lot of people moaning about the lack of power but i can tell you now that it don't hang about when you floor it. Has no problem staying with our Mazda 6 v6 and towing a 7000+lb plus trailer it does it a breeze. Even on some very steep mountains around here.

I don't have a platinum so can't comment there, but I do have an 09 (loaded FX4). I've owned 6 other Fords and 1 Chevy that were all new in the last 10 years. Out of all of them, this is one of 2 that after about a month, there is not one thing I don't like about it (a 2k super duty with 7.3 powerstroke was the other). This truck is great in many ways. The nav/sync/sony radio may be the most impressive thing. For stock, it is unvelievable!

Go get one then tell us what you think, you won't be disappointed!

My sand platinum

I have a Sand 09 Platinum with around 700 miles on it getting around 18 mph, It is loaded except for Bed steps, I ordered a left bedside step as a kit but Ford does not offer a kit for the right side. Also ordered Gas tank lock and wheel locks and tie downs for the bed pockets. Overall highly satisfied with truck. Only complaint so far is that it does not pull down in the higher gears it changes from 6th to 5th to 4th whenever you add just a little juice. I added a LINEX liner also. Truck weighs in at 6200 lbs WOW

That's a pretty slow truck! What kind of gas mileage do you get at those speeds?

Platinum owner for about 2 weeks now, less than 1K miles...

Good: Nav system and Sync, leather seats are best ever, nice tone to the exhaust, cooled seats, power, back seat feels like a limo, tailgate step, Pirelli tires look awesome

Bad: rust along drive shaft and hubs at delivery, running boards sometimes will hit your legs if not careful, fingerprints on Nav system seem more than expected, USB port should be in storage unit or glovebox, odd angle on front seat head rests (lean forward and are hard to adjust to comfort)

Overall, I am VERY satisfied with this vehicle. Without a doubt, the nicest truck I have ever owned and a giant leap forward from my previous 2000 GMC Sierra.

Deano can you confirm the alarm and imobiliser still function. I called CLifford again yesterday as i was bored and they still aint got a module to fit the dam platinum. Called the Ford install help line again and they said the same exact thing i was told a month or so ago. They said the alarm will not funtion with the remote start on the platinum and codehoping system with have to be bypassed.

Please post back and let us know. The reason is clifford said once ford make a remote start system that lets the alarm funtions work then then my dealer can piggy back a system from the ford system. Dont want to pay out $1500 on an alarm then have them mess around with the truck and not be able to get it working.

I have no idea about how these alarms work.

ok here's the deal, if the truck has factory alarm, it does not mean a rmst can not be installed. all it means is that there may not be a direct connection for the rmst to pulse the factory alarm on and off. because yes as of right now no one makes a data line interface kit like they do for GM, dodge, and other makes and Ford has started to integrate so many things in the smart junction box there are no longer disarm wires of the key cylinders in the door we can pulse on some units. they told us all the same crap with 09 superduties, and expeditions, Navi's that we couldn't do it, and i have done a tonne of all those trucks with out issue. because what will happen is when you lock and unlock your truck with rmst it will operate normally the factory alarm may not disarm but you have 30 sec's to put the truck in the run position which will turn it off. but i have yet to experience this the only issue i have ever had with and late 08-09 truck/suv was my bosses he drives a new expedition ever 6 months, when he pops open the power lift gate with rmst the alarm will go off so he just starts it first and then pops open the lift gate, but just entering the truck no issues whats so ever.

so if you really want security which i highly recommend put in a rmst with alarm combo, you get the best of both worlds, and 1500 is a complete *** raping we charge at our dealership 799.00+ tax for full rmst and alarm installed parts and labour all soldered connections no matter what kind of vehicle it is and that's 799 Canadian. so who ever wants to charge 1500 is ripping you off.

Yeah the price is expensive but thats the price i been given for the MATRIX 50.7X, Ford module, Window closeing module, Extra sensors and a warning logo. The price has 1500 from a local dealer. Would be lovely to get you to do it for $799 but i cant even find the parts for that.
