Brake Changes???

Has Ford changed anything with there front brake set-up on the 09 4x4's compared to the 04/08's?
Just wondering if my aftermarket big brake kit that I put on my 07 will be able to be moved over onto the 09+ trucks when the time comes?

Any help would be great...

I've read every word written about this truck and as I can recall not one word of any changes to brakes... just an FYI.

Changes to the brakes are electronic brakeforce distribution, Advance Trac with RSC, and for those who tow the trailer sway control and trailer brake controller.

Trailer brake controller been around for awhile. I was referring to actual mechanical parts (disc size, caliper strength etc)

Check again. The TBC is new.

The All-New '09 F-150 now offers an available fully integrated Trailer Brake Controller (TBC).* TBC synchronizes vehicle and trailer brakes for seamless braking (even with the heaviest loads) to provide added driving control and confidence. Factory-installed TBC with standard Trailer Sway Control (TSC)* is a combination that's class-exclusive to the New '09 F-150.

Standard on The All-New '09 F-150, Trailer Sway Control (TSC)* builds on the AdvanceTrac® system with segment-first** Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®)* to help maintain trailer control through selective wheel braking and reduced engine power. The result: noticeable stability and control, which provides greater driver confidence when towing the largest loads.

I know they changed the lower A-arm from aluminum to stamped steel. They may have changed the spindles too. I know they put 4wheel abs on them and the brake pedal feel is supposed to be better. If the brake feel is better, they may have changed the calipers. They changed a lot of stuff on the 09s.

I appreciate the insight about the Advance Trac and so on but what I need to know is will the front Brake kit that is on my 07 4x4 "6 piston caliper 15" rotor" be able to be moved over onto the 09+ F150??? I know the bolt pattern is the same but has anything else changed that would prevent it from being compatible?

Anybody...

Some of the features are new, but you could order a TBC from the factory on a 08. Gm offered it in the last batch of 07s..

Maybe as an aftermarket add-on, but certainly not integrated. I ordered close to one of the last 2008's with mine, and this option was never available as a factory option. If anything, like the chrome bug shield and remote start, it could have been an add-on that is shipped independently from the factory and installed by the dealer. I'd like to know where this 2008 TBC would have mounted in the dash.

You must be right. I must have thinking of the 250s. Or perhaps the rear view camera. My bad.
