i dunno about the 09's..... the front of that one on ebay is hidious... the tailgate looks way to crowded with pointless badges and lines... and the tail lights look like rice. the rims look alright, although they look like they belong to a car, not a truck.

i went to my dealership a couple of days ago to look around... a sales guy i know there said he'd give me a call when they got their first one in so i could take a good look at it... hopefully in person they look more appealing

Nice looking truck. Shame you could get a platinum for a lot less than he is trying to sell the KR for. Why would anyone pay that price when you could walk in and order one for less. a lot less

the window sticker says its a lariat with a King ranch package, and there is no charge for the king ranch package??

 

Why in God's name does Ford continue to put ricer tails on EVERYTHING they make?

Honestly, what MORON at Ford corporate decided that the best way to get customers is to market their entire lineup to 17 year old rice rocket owners?

I can see it now...50+ year old man after 50+ year old literally buying a Chevy just over the ricer tails. I know my dad would if he didn't know that I could smoke the tails darker...no joke.

The tails look totally different in person than they do in the pics. A little chrome doesn't make them rice but if people feel so strongly about the tails, they should send their comments to Ford. It is beating a dead horse to keep bringing it up here in the forum without contacting Ford. Maybe they will change them for 2010, kind of like how they went from square to round fog lights in 2006 if enough people complain about them.

I think because the King Ranch, Platinum, Harley Davidson, are all actually just "option" packages built off of the Lariat platform. Check out the order guide, those trucks are based off of the Lariat. I think it says no charge for the King Ranch because it knows the truck is being built as a King Ranch, but Lariat is listed first at the top of the window sticker for the reason I just stated.


as for the tail lights, there was a spy pic of a new Harley model and it had smoked tails. Buy them, or smoke the tails yourself, or I'm sure there will be plenty of aftermarket ones out soon, so quit beating the dead house about those tail lights for pete's sake!

I also noticed on that King Ranch's 20's, just like mfrunlimited posted his pics, that they are all silver instead of having the gold painted inserts like it shows in the order guide?

Two thoughts: 1.) I told one of the head marketing guys in person.
2.) FoMoCo reads these forums, it isn't useless to complain here.

 

At least the wheels are nice.

 

Telling the forum and the marketing guy probably won't be all that effective. You should also follow it up with a letter. F-150 chief designer, Pat Schiavone. He's the one who designed the 04-08s and the 09s. And who we should be talking to.
