Couple questions:
Couple questions:
i) I guess with continued delay of release of 09 F150 who knows when the 5.4l specs will be released. I read in new truck trend editorial that first 09 Ram report will be out next issue (end Sept) and the F-150 issue after that (end of Nov) So will we have to wait until the end of Nov! We've been waiting since beg of January, whats another 2.5 months. I thought it would have leaked out by now. Based everything I've read my guess it'll be the 320/390 #'s and that'll be w or w/o e85....
ii) I've seen the 09 Ram tow and payload #'s, but anyone seen the GVW? According to ram site, crew can max tow is only 8,650.... or 200lbs less than my 04 F-150 Screw!
I know the new coil spring rear would detract from towing... but they are really hitching their wagon to the personal use crowd. Not sure thats a good move given they are bailing the most on trucks during $$$$ fuel times.
iii) New Car & Driver 09 buyers guide indicated the 6.2L is still ayear away. I'm assuming thats old info. Who knows what will happen given current environment. I'd buy one but thats old news too.

1)The '09 is coming, people REALLY need to stop being so impatient. With the way the market is right now Ford is no doubt trying to time it's release so it has the greatest impact on the market.
2)When you consider that most people that do tow with their trucks don't pull anywhere near the max rating it's really not that big of a deal. The coil rear end will make day to day driving far more comfortable, the new Hemi with MDS makes more power and gets MPG numbers close to what the '09 Honda Pilot gets.
3)Whatever. If they build it, it will sell.
Questions were underlined.
You think a 4wd 09 ram hemi will acheive close to same mpg as a Honda Pilot? wow.
If people want storage compartements, coil springs and less capability then they can buy an Avalanche.
I need a new truck. I understand why there is a delay. Does that help me with my problem... No So I'll continue to be impaitent. Its my right. Get over it.

As for the second part of your post, if you don't like the answers you get when you ask something then don't ask. It'll save people the irritation of reading your snotty comments.
How much research have you done on the topic? My wife has always liked the Dodge Ram, she loves the '09. As a result we've been searching out every piece of information we can find on it. The MPG ratings I've read are directly from the Government of Canada, I wouldn't say it if I didn't know it was true.

Just so you are aware. If you see any MPG info for any car/truck make sure that they are the metric mpg as a lot of companys post MPG in canadian gallon which is more than the US gallon. Thats why it looks like they get higher mpg. Ford MPG's are based on Metric gallon unlike Dodge. that means dodge gained a 20.095% increase in MPG just because it uses imperial gallon.
'And what of speculation that there would be a Ram model capable of achieving 23 mpg highway? Not in the cards says Dodge, who told Pickuptrucks.com that the most fuel efficient model would be a regular cab 4x2 with the 3.7L V6 and 3.55:1 rear axle good for around 14 city/20 highway mpg.'

a kid a work with has a 07 Ram 4x4 Hemi Quad Cab with factory 20" rims says he gets only 10-11 mpg city and 15 mpg highway. It is somewhat hilly around here, but my 04 5.4 FX4 Screw gets 13 mpg city and 17-18 mpg highway.
The redesigned Hemi going in the '09 Ram is SUPPOSED to be around 20% more efficient then the one it's replacing, due in part to things like the addition of variable valve timing and a better MDS system. This should put it in the range of what my F150 gets, either way I know there's going to be one in the garage this winter because my wife has her heart set on it.

Regardless, my wife's cheque will be paying for her new truck. She can buy whatever she wants. In 2004 I got my Ford, in 2009 she finally gets her Dodge Ram.
This is how the "conversation" went:
Wife-"I really like that '09 Ram."
Me-"Yeah, it's a nice lookin' truck but the new F150's are coming too."
Wife-"I thought you didn't like the new F150?"
Me-"I still want to see one in person so I can make a more informed decision."
Wife-"Why? Your not buying one so why bother going to look at it?
Me-"It's a guy thing, I'm a Ford guy and I have to go see the new Ford."
Wife-"The Ram will be out first, so you can go with me to check it out or I can go by myself."
Me-(With fear in my heart)"OK, OK, we'll go check out the Ram. Your not doing that by yourself."
Me again-"Where are you going? What did I say?"
I have to stop here, it was at this point the conversation changed to her saying things that won't clear the language filter.
