Question Ordering a Ford

Howdy,

I have been looking to buy a new truck for a while now and after seeing pictures of the 2009 F-150 and reading all the options you can get for it I believe I am going to buy one. But before I make up my mind I had a few questions about ordering from Ford.

Do you order the truck directly from the manufacturer or do you order it through a dealership?

What is the total cost of the order? MSRP? Invoice?

Are there other fees involved?

Can you get Ford incentives such as 0% for 60 months?

Is it worth ordering a truck?

Any other information you have would be great. I dont know anyone who has done this before so any info is greatly appreciated. Also information about how to go about ordering a truck would be helpful. Thanks Again.

You won't get much in the way of negotiations or incentives on a new product!.........

You will have to order via a Ford dealer. Dealers will also have 'inventory' on lot of 2009 as well, it's possible they may have something that 'fits the bill' when the 2009 start shipping. Dealers can also search other dealers to see if someone else has a match of an already built truck in what you are looking for on their lot. Or, to get exactly what you want you order via a Ford dealer & the truck is built as per your instructions.

To get a feel for the costs you can use the 'build&price' at the ford website & it will assemble the mrsp based on your selections. This isn't available for 2009 yet but the 2008 build & price could give you a rough idea i suppose.

Rambo,

Are you saying that you can get x-plan pricing when you order a truck? If so that would be great. I work for a company that can get x-plan pricing so it would work out good for me.

Thanks

It's even better if you get to use the A-Plan discount like I will be using when I order mine.

Well it is similiar to the X-Plan except there is no pin required and the only way you can get the A-plan is if you are Ford Motor Co. employee or a family member of someone who works for Ford. You get a little bit better discount too.
