If that 5.4 pushes around 375 hp would you still be disappointed? not trying to sound rude just wondering if its the 5.4 you dont like or just the numbers The intake looks a lot different

 

It says Triton 5.4 3V right on the engine. That is a new intake design and the engine bay looks pretty different.

no not disappointed ryan24 the 5.4 has been a pretty good engine. looks like it has been retuned alittle for some more hp. thats a good thing!

 

Did you notice the Tachometer? The red line is set at 6100RPM! The current 5.4's 3v's redline at 5200-5400RPM! I think that something is up FORD's sleeve.......

 

What is up with that air intake. I thought the '04-'08 airboxes were restrictive!

Ford's playing their cards pretty close to their chest on this, I hope it's worth the wait.

There's pics a white XLT Scab w/chrome package on there too (people were asking if white was still available). Those XLT chrome 20's don't look that great.

 

I noticed the weird *** intake tube also. At least that shows they made some changes. This thing is awfully hush hush, I agree that it seems like Ford has a little surprise. Let's hope anyway... Honestly if the 4.6 3v is making 292 horses, one would think the 5.4 3v would be able to make another 50 or so horses with the extra .8 liter.. Just a thought

I truly think that HP #'s for the 2009 5.4 3v will be considerably higher that what our truck are currently producing!...That is why FORD has been Hush Hush about it!......

take off the cover and its the same motor... also seen the motor in person....
