Order bank opens 5-16-08. I would expect the order guides to be out by then for sure.

Job One is showing 7-23-08.

I stopped in to see my dealer today while getting a rotation. He had all the same info that's been posted here - order bank date, ship dates, etc - and nothing more.

Still said May 16th in his computer for open of order bank, so he said he'd email and call me as soon as he has any info at all. I'll let you guys know as soon as I do when I hear anything new.

On another note, it's AMAZING how different the dealer lot is! I've bought 3 special-order F-150's from this same dealer over the years, starting in 1996. Their lot is BARREN compared to every single other time I've ever been there, the last probably sometime in 2006. There are huge empty spaces between the vehicles on the lot, and the ones that are there are spread out thinly. It's really crazy. That lot has ALWAYS been packed to the brim, so full it was hard to even get in the lot, never mind find a parking spot. Now it's like a vacant lot with scattered vehicles here 'n there. Kinda sad, yet it was nice to be able to get in and out with ease. Checked out an Edge while there as well, nice vehicle, inside as well as out.

How can an order bank open with no ordering guide?

Stopped at a different Ford dealer this evening to see if order guides were out today (16th), but nothing. Although my regular dealer is a lot better than this one I went to today. Every time at this place it's either high-pressure tactics, totally uninformed associates who pretend to know stuff that's not even correct, or salemen who ignore me because I look young and they think "Young, just a kid, no money, don't really need/want to waste my time on him he has no money" when in fact I probably have more money than most people in there.

So yeah, that dealer sucks I just happened to be in the area while shopping at Lowe's and such for home remodeling stuff I'm doing. Hopefully we will hear something soon. I mean, how can they open the order bank today for 2009's yet not have order guides to go by? Yeaaaah...

yeah i'm thinking they didn't open the order bank today..
i'm lucky the 2 dealers nearest me are good. no pressure and I always get quotes from several dealers before I buy and the one I have bought 5 vehicles from now. and the other willing to work with me. when the ford gt was out he had 3 and he saw me looking at it and said I can put you in one and I said I need a his and hers he said if I can do it will you.

The site I mentioned on page 1 doesn't have them yet either. I emailed them and he said maybe on Monday?

Hope so! Both dealers said they'd contact me as soon as they get any info, but you know how that goes... I even told my fav dealer that I wanted to be the 1st person to know, he said I'd be the second, after him.

As always, will share any info I get asap.

Thanks. I'd like to get an XLT with the Chrome Package and 18" Chrome Wheels, but you can't get the Navigation Radio on the XLT. It looks like I'll be getting a Lariat or FX4. Fuel economy and horsepower ratings TBD.

Wait to next year when all of the options are out and trickle down to the XLT. You can get the current XLT with nav.

Remote Start and Defrost - -> tech issues FMC can't overcome?

Nice to see. Seems like the Platinum will have pretty much everything, other than NAV, as standard. Although it appears you cannot get the Remote Start with the Platinum! What the heck is that all about?

Prices would be nice. As would an actual order guide, but this is certainly good enough for now, much appreciated. I'm still confused as to why you canNOT get rear window defrost with the power sliding rear window. Just seems incredibly bizarre. Heck, seemed bizarre back in 2004. It's now almost 2009. What's the incredibly complex mechanical issue that cannot be overcome to include defrost with rear power sliding window?

As I see more n more I can't help but worry about what someone said months ago. That this refresh screams "place filler" or "holdover" until they can get a full remodel completed. I'm just very fearful of dropping 40k and then seeing a ground-up remodel in 2012 or so.
