The who was first argument is a bit silly because these liners have long been available from Ford dealers and I have heard nothing but bad about Nissan's spray-on liners. I may still get another drop-in liner because I haul a lot of heavy cargo and need the extra protection against dents.

Bitter, party of one, bitter...party of one!

Seriously, how does it matter? Obviously the addition of a factory-option spray in liner is trivial at best considering the Titan is the WORST selling truck in America. It's a total disaster.

So the argument clearly can't be made that it is or was crucial that automakers "listen to their customer bases' demand for spray-in liners," because if the demand was actually theres it might have translated to some sales: clearly, it did not.

More simply put for those who just "don't get it," who here would NOT buy a certain make of truck because they couldn't buy a truck with the bedliner installed at the factory? The only possible answer is someone that is either insanely lazy (incapable of driving to the nearest Line-x dealer, which will likely give better service and warranty anyway ) , or someone that is simply so stubborn and ridiculous that they are going to be ultimately screwing themselves based on a joke of a principal.

Your right, it doesn't matter, I never said it did. What I did say was that Nissan offered it first in 2004 and Ford is finally going to offer it as well. I fail to understand what's lazy about someone choosing to have their liner done by Ford instead of going to LineX. There's no shortage of aftermarket companies out there offering accessories, yet people choose to buy them from Ford and have it all done when they order the truck. That way they just pick up the keys and drive it home with everything already done, it's called convenience.

Everything I've read so far about Ford's bedliner says it's just as tough as LineX and will stand up better to UV which will keep it looking new, longer. The advantage to LineX is it can be tinted and it comes with a lifetime warranty. Now that Ford is making a factory spray-in available expect to see GMC and Dodge doing it as well.

When I picked up my brand new 06 it has a sprayed in liner. Ford took it and got it Rhino lined for less than I would have payed. I wanted it and I got it, clearly it's not that hard to do

This is likely why Ford is now making it available, at least on the Super Duty. People have been asking for it and Ford responded. It also gives Ford the chance to get of piece of the $$ that would be going to the aftermarket.

And I agree with this, I just don't think its that big of a deal to be honest. I was not even going to mention the Rhino, but once they offered it for 250 I jumped

$250 is a good deal, LineX is my preference but for that price I would have taken the Rhino it as well.

I'm curious to see the spray-in that Ford will be using. We all know that they understand what people use their trucks for so I don't see Ford putting a liner in that can't take the abuse. Especially since it will be available first in the Super Duty.

The dealer put a spray-in liner in my 2007.....they also installed a Leer 700 tonneau...they have an accessory business as a side. About the liner i spec'd, it is a 'Line-ex' type, i forget the actual brand name, but it is much thicker & also plaible to the touch & very grippy......a light cardboard box placed just inside endgate will still be there
after a rough road and or fast drive. A real bitch to slide anything into box though...oh well. As to toy-boata who gives a rats *** what they do?....a spray in liner is hardly something that will get you to consider the brand nor is it a deal breaker imo.

Thats what I thought, a couple quick calls later I found the going rate was over a hundred bucks more. Not sure why they offered it so cheap, but it worked for me

Alittle defensive?

A FACT was clearly stated. That's it. But once again, take it out of context as an attack on your beloved Ford.

Damn Trolls!

Just to wander back on topic, I think it's a good option for Ford to offer. Will it help sell a truck or two more? Maybe. My 99 came with the plastic bedliner which is downright dangerous to walk on if it is wet or cover in snow.

I like the idea.

Nissan offers it... so should Ford.

My friend's '07 Nissan Frontier has it... it's some awesome stuff.

That's the point I was trying to make earlier.
