well lets see i got a truck because well i love trucks and well i drive it every day and just like 90% of all of you guys who lift there trucks i dont take my truck off road so lowering it makes it safer to drive on the roads(offroad too) that and well i just like it

so please tell me how is lifting a truck better then lowering?

I do not know what makes you think a lower truck is safer. especially offroad. you obviously have never offroaded. you lower a truck and you have to worry about bottoming out if you hit a bump bigger than 6 inches. in fact the other day I was laughing at a truck that was lowered with ground effects. those ground effects were grinding on the road as that truck drove down the road covered in about 6 inches of icy compact snow with some rutts. those road conditions are everywhere arround here this time of year. and I imagine he has no ground effects by now or has parked his wanabe truck.

Yep, I agree. Just because you've got a 6" lift, doesn't mean that you're any more capable than stock. A lifted 85 chevy with 38 swampers had a tough time crossing a ditch where a stock long bed F150 4x4 just danced over it like it wasn't even there. Not to mention he had to leave it parked on the side of the road because the trees and branches were too low and couldn't make it through. I didn't have a bit of trouble either since back then I had a Nissan Hardbody 4x4 that could go dang near anywhere. The guy felt like sh@t with his huge jacked up truck and couldn't even make it to the party. Tisk, tisk. Oh well.

granted it you are set up with 38's you better have lower gears and a big enough engine to push them. and a lifted truck is more likely to roll under certain circumstances. but a lower truck it taken of road on any road with large rocks and ruts. will end up bottomed out or dammaged on the underside. and branches being 8 or 10 inches lower wont stop a truck unless you are worried about scratches. as far as lower being safer. it has been well documented that in car - truck accidents the car usually looses. the vehicle with the higher bumper usually fares better. unless the higher one rolls which is more likely to happen but dose not happen that often.

Offroad99,
I am impressed with the ideas on the changes to the front end that you have done with photoshop. If you have time, see what you can do about getting rid of that tailgate lip and squaring up the taillights.
