Regular Cab
Regular Cab
Is Ford keeping the rear access doors on the regular cab? I've seen spy photos of a regular cab with no access doors, so I was just wondering. If I were to get a regular cab, which I am considering, that would be a big selling point for me.

Oh well, I'd better start really saving so that I can get an 08 before they run out. There should be some pretty good rebates by the end of the year, so that is a big plus anyway. I will be looking for an 08 FX4 Flairside Regular Cab or a similarly equipped XLT.
Why in the heck would they eliminate the access doors. That was real innovation, and really made the F150 stand out. I could honestly give a flying crap about voice activating my radio or brushed accents on my dash. This is supposed to be a truck! Now if I want to be able to put something behind my seat, I'm going to have to get an extended cab with the mile long wheelbase or a crew cab that weighs ten thousand pounds and has a stumpy bed to boot, or a regular bed and a two mile long wheelbase.

As long as there's the same am amount of room behind the seats it might be ok, but I think it will be more difficult to access and I don't like huge doors. Has anyone ever driven an 80's model Daytona? The doors are huge compaired to the car and they're a b!tch to open and close.

In fact with the size and position of my mirrors I only have one small blind spot on the passenger side. I can see the door handle and everything behind it in my driver side mirror and if the vehicle is in front of my door handle I'll be able to see it in my periphrial.

I'm not married to the idea of the access doors, I just like having unobstructed access to the area behind the seat. If Ford can provide the same level of access by making the front doors longer alone, then I will be okay with that as well. In fact, I can see where there would be some advantages to that, especially given what some of you had to say above. I would still like to see pictures though.
