2009 front end downgrade

After looking at the pics of the 09, it seems like swapping the entire front clip for an 04-08 one might just be possible. The body lines on the doors and fenders are the same between the 04-08 and the 09's. If it can be done, maybe Stylin Concepts will offer a kit to do the swap like the one they have to put a first gen Escalade front clip onto a like year tahoe or chevy/gmc half ton. Any thoughts?

Of course, 'anything' is possible. Might be cheaper to retro fit the interior to your 04-08 if thats all you like the 09 for. BTW, I think that the way the truck is structured that the front end of an 04-08 would look to small with all the other 'bold' looks.

interesting idea. are you talking from the door forword? if so the front fenders would end up not flared out so much and th rear would still be flared out more so they would not match. but otherwise it is an intersting idea.

Actually, yes I was talking about from the door forward, including the fenders, hood, bumper, grill, valence, core support, lights and so on. Basically the entire front clip. I got the idea after seeing how the body lines are the same.

I would guess if you can downgrade the front clip, you can probably upgrade also by putting an 09 clip on an 04-08.

For the cost you might as well buy a new truck....

This falls into the same category as the weekly suggestion to put an entirely new drive train into the truck that was never intended to fit. It's just not practical and only a handful of people will ever take the time and money to actually do it.

Even if it would be possible, the only way it would be affordable would be to have a friend at a chop shop.

I didn't think it would be cheap. The stylin concepts kit I mentioned earlier is over 3 large. I'm just curious as to whether it can be done, and if it can, it will give poeple who hate the front end of 09's an option.

if you had an 09 truck you could do and 04+ font end and bed swap to make it look proportional.
the expense wouldnt be worth it unless you use all junk yard parts.

According to an article I read this morning, all of the body panels are new sheetmetal.

They were simply going to change the front clip originally but after seeing what the competition was doing, pumped more money into the redesign and altered the rest of the body as well.

i wouldnt expect the fender to match up with the door too well, to me it looks a bit different especially the body line on the bottom, dont get me wrong it can be done but i not easily

Sorry. It was linked in an intercompany daily mailer and I've already deleted it. I can't remember who the source was.
