Even more word...There are several people who have recently posted that work for parts companies that have gotten orders for different parts for the "2010 6.2." The diesel will be out in 2010 as well just like the press release says.

I was starting to like the direction this thread was turning towards until you made this offensive comment! Just because you're over the age of 25 doesn't mean you're still not ignorant to things of this nature! That's like saying you can't make a burrito if you're not mexican, can't play sports if you're not black, or can't be a politician if you're not white! You sound stupid for making such a broad generalization!

So the 6.2L is only going to be offered in the "Harley Davidson Edition" or will it be available to all models after that introduction?

Do you think a 6.2L with a 6 speed will do worse than the current 5.4L? If so by how much? And then when I NEED the pwr its there!

A bigger engine in this case should actually get better mileage. Any engine becomes inefficient when it is underpowered, and with the size of these trucks today, the 5.4 is just too small. You've got to remember, that engine was designed to power a 97 F150, and I don't even think crew cabs were on the horizon back then. I bought a 99 flairside regular cab back in 99, and it was actually pretty peppy with the 5.4, but I'll bet that a modern F150 crew cab out weighs it by more than 1000 pounds, probably closer to 2000, and that's just too much for that engine.

Even the 99 truck felt gutless until you really stepped on it, then it would take off to beat all. Having to constantly floor it just to merge or get over or pass or what ever really leads to poor fuel economy. It's also frustrating to be at the mercy of every full size truck in the planet when it's time to merge.

Make sure the dealer pre-orders you some transmissions to go with your lifetime warranty. Our Durango is on #4 at 130,000 highway miles with minimal towing! NEVER AGAIN!

If Ford does not come out with a big motor they are fools. Everyone is demanding it, all the other trucks have it. Not that all of us would purchase it, but a good amount would. Toyota under estimated how many people would purchase the 5.7 and had to drasticially bump production up. People want power, Ford had better bring it... I am sure they will
