good man, i think i got a feel on what theyre talkin about the 6.2 being in the HD. Itll be the same as the turbo v6 that debuted i nthe lincoln MKS concept last year, that motor is gonna be in the fusions or tauruses w/e in a couple years. The 6.2 will be in the HD when it first shows up at an auto show, and it will from there, be put into the normal 150s. Does anyone know if an HD f150 is supposed to be released this week? Or sometime later this year?

I thought I read somewhere they were going to release the 6.2 in the Harley first and then release it into the rest of the fleet later on.

The 6.2 will make its first offical debut in the Lincoln Navigator before it is offered up to the F150/Expedition from what I have heard.

Motor Trend mentioned the Harley but they were also the ones who said that the 6.4L diesel would be in the F-150. Motor Trend has been shown to be wrong many times.

I agree.

The reason why there is no word from Ford on the 6.2 is because it would not make sense to talk about an engine that is not available when it debuts. All that would do is hurt sales. So if there is nobody talking about it, and then it is released the next year, they could make even more money with a second good year in sales with new motors rather than doing it all at once.

Very true, some guys go out and buy the new truck. Then the next year with new motors the same guys are trading the 1 year old trucks back in for the same truck but with a different motor.

I personally will wait and see what the Eco motor and diesel options, along with the tow ratings of each. To see if I stick with a F150 or step up to a SuperDuty.

I guess your right. But I still think they should have said it's coming. There will be those people that run out and buy one the first year and take whats there. Then theres the people that will wait and see if something better is coming......Like Me

I just wonder how hard it would be to put a 6.2L with a 6 speed into a 04-08 body style?

wow there is sooooo much wrong info on the forums about this truck......

we really need to hear numbers for this eco boost engine, the v6 in the mks is making either 340 or 360 hp i forget which so id imagine the v8 near 400....besides why have a 6.2 if you cant afford the gas....id really like to see the 6.2 being a ecoboost engine that would be sweet, and probably make gobbs of hp

but ive said it before and ill say it again horsepower is bragging rights torque wins the race

Hmmm Just read in another forum that 'Igor' now says 6.2L coming Feb 09 was just speculation on their part... WOW

I guess my plan will be to drive my 04 until its dead, then if the 6.2L still isn't out, I'll have to make alternative arrangements!

I hope we're wrong here... BUT think about this, for the last two years Ford has sold the Navigator with 103 HP less than the direct competition, the Escalade. They are not afraid to be the 90lb weakling...
