The New Lincoln MKS is coming out for 2008 with the "Twin Force" system. I believe it's a 3.5L configuration for the Lincoln.
The Lincoln concept boasted 415 hp and 400ft.lb torque from a V6, with 15% better fuel mileage than a similar powered V8.
If it's successful with the Lincoln, I can see Ford trying it in other vehicles in the near future the catch up in the economy race.

but this "Twin Force" thing looks very interesting, and if that MKS gets that much power, it would be faster than the BMW 335i, or maybe even the new M3

Whoa....you guys arent saying theyre putting a 6.2 in a 150 right? Its for the SDs Im guessing. If they could put that 2XTurbo in an 07 body style, I would be on that like stink on s__t!! I still cant bring myself to like the 08s. That would also be cool in an F150.

Do you really think the 6.2 is coming? Why wouldnt they release it in the all new 08 superdutys? Wouldnt it be odd to add an engine after a new model has been released? Im sure they would use the 6.2 in the superduties and get rid of the 5.4.
I just have a bad feeling we wont be seeing much other than maybe a 4v 5.4 or just a few more hp with the current 3v and a 6 speed tranny is all.
I sure hope im wrong and the new 6.2 is fuel efficient and very powerful with out needing it to be tuned by troyer.

Well keep in mind it would also have direct injection. And a 6 speed vs a 4 speed would add ? 8-10% better mpg. And its wouldn't be "twin turbos, more like one dual stage as per the diesel... My 04 5.4L Screw does just as well on fuel (highway) as my 98 Scab 5.4 did with an extra 65HP and ? 600lbs more heft.... From what I gather from my bud w/the new 07 GM 6.0L, he would do just as well as my 5.4L with an xtra 67Hp... Will the new Toyota do any worse than the 5.4L with an extra 81 Hp...

it's all marketing....all marketing, the SD gets the 6.4L, and the F-150 will hopefully get the 6.2L, as well as applications that could possibly replace the V10 like how GM replaced the 8.1L V10 with the 6.0L V8 in their HDs

[educated guess]
The 6.2 will show up in the F150, hopefully for the '09 model year...maybe job 2 - mid-year.
The 6.2 with twin turbos will show up in the Super Duty and replace the V10 in the '10 model year. It will offer more power and torque than the V10 with the fuel economy of a V8.
I'm also putting money on the GTTDI (Gas Twin Turbo Direct Injection) 6.2 showing up in a lightning.

Must remember GM will have the 6.2L w/6speed accross the board by the time the new 09 Ford debuts so I doubt Ford can afford to wait to unveil the 6.2L GTTDI for model year 2. Another sign of this newly requried aggression is all the changes to the '08. Its a competitive market unlike ever before.... As much as I'm a ford guy and always have been, IF I needed a new truck right now, I'd be hard pressed to not choose a new Sierra with the 6.0L... given I tow a heavy camper...
