Window visor vents

Which window visor vents should i go with. In channel or the stick on the outside type? I have read of issues with the in channel ones with the windows going back up. I had in channel on my old truck and liked them. What are your opinions?

I had them on almost all of my vehicles. On this truck it does not have them and I really do not mind it at all, looks cleaner without.

Some hate the stick on ones, but my old truck had them and there was a lot of space and it didn't interfere with the glass at all. I would say those.

I have always had the stick on kind, because i smoke and like to keep the window open a crack to let the smoke out, which is hard to do in the rain without the vents.
The times when i had the dealer install them, they came loose at the ends after a year or two. I installed them on my last few vehicles myself with good luck, making sure to use the alcohol wipes first and applying on a hot day. Seems to stick better when the metal is hot.

Well im in FL so heat is not an issue. I use them because my truck is in the sun all day and keeping the windows cracked a bit helps keep the truck cooler. I have had my dash crack on trucks that i have not kept the windows cracked.

I got the new Euro slim stick ons I no longer use the in channel as they stress the window motor and cause more wind noise leaks IMO.

Never had issues with "in-channel" until my 2012. Took 'em back and saved the cash. Sucks, but the windows just wouldn't stop going back down automatically (even with overriding that function). Good luck.

What year is your truck? Do you have the auto up feature? or just normal power windows that you have to hold the button to put it up if so the roll down issue isn't an issue? I've got an 09 Fx4 with just normal power windows no auto up and I put the in channels on two months ago and love them... the window keeps pressure on the 3m tape when up so they won't come loose like the exterior mounts. and they look so much sleeker than the stick on... went with AVS in channel on ebay for like $50 bucks

low profile stick on's. you wont be having issues with wind or sounds from a in Chanel style and todays tape will hold like iron!

My pal's AVS stick-ons were installed on his 2001 when new and they are still stuckin.

He even has one across his back window which is still stuckin.

My '10's AVS stick-ons are still stuckin.

Detail company that installed mine wanted me to sign a waiver releasing them from responsibility of motor burn out with in the in-channel, AVS.

I had to sign a waiver stating that the detailer's warned me my window tint was too dark, also.

My truck is a 2012 and i have the auto up windows. The more i think about it the more im considering the low profile stick on's for it. Just so damn hot not to have the windows cracked when it sits in the sun all day.

I went with a set of AVS seamless today and am really pleased. They blend in really well with my Tuxedo Black. I prefer in-channel, but they gave me fits with the auto down feature. I think these will serve me well.

Sorry, I have NO idea how to insert pics...

no comparison how much nicer the inchannel looks on our trucks. The stick ones look so cheap in comparison. I had some issues right in the begining with bounce back but there on now for 1.5 and they work fine. The only drawbackm, i admit is the wind noise when opened a crack but i can deal with that. I went with EGR. ordered from autoanything.com
