Fuel filter tool ?
So I just ordered my Motorcraft fuel filters online for $11.00 bucks a piece, compared to the dealers $24.99.......
I wanted to know if the same removal tool that I have used to do the fuel filters on my 02 will work with my 06?......both were 5.4 if that matters at all.
Also it is the same procedure as my 02?

Thanks guys, I just called O' Reilys and they wanted 17.99 for the fuel filter and they would have to get them from the warehouse...3-4 days.......So i got a pretty good deal online....should get it by the end of the week....I'm in no rush
As for the tool I have a metal one.....I will go check right now on what size it is..
EDIT: Yep it is 5/16 and 3/8 on the other end......it is also the scissors type.
So it sounds like my tool should work then uh?

you are not supposed to remove the clip. You take a screw driver and gently pry up the center part, it comes up just about 1/8 of an inch. Then you work the tool in the end of the hose and pull on the hose.

I have never had trouble with that side. I don't know. Push the hose toward the filter and work the tool into the end of the hose, then pull on the hose. Mine always comes off. Now, on the outlet side, I did have a problem and nouthing I did would get it to release. I ended up taking it to a QuickLube and they charged me $44 to replace it. They had a time and ended up pulling the clip out with the filter. they said that sometimes they rust and will not release, They installed a new clip inside the line. But again, this was on the outlet side, not the inlet, where the blue clip is.

I went to the store and bought the filter and tool, got the inlet side off fine, outlet side was real rusty & stuck , took wd40 sprayed it around the fitting and with a small wrench over the coupling with the tool releasing the tabs and it slowly slid off with firm back and fourth motion......replace the the fuel lines....My a**
I only have about 16,500 miles on my 06 so it should come off fine......I hope
I also did a Google search and found this
