08 5.4 P0141 and P0 161 codes keep coming back

I purchased the truck on my birthday a few weeks ago and have been trying to take care of all the issues it has. I changed out an abs sensor, changed the oil the previous owner said he changed the plugs and wires. I’m stuck on these 2 codes. Not sure what else to check. It has some kind of k&n cone shaped air filter and a magna flow exhaust on it. The filter is dirty, could that be the cause? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Both downstream O2 sensors have issues. Get rid of that K&N and put a stock air cleaner on it. Read these:

https://www.obd-codes.com/p0161

The plugs don't have wires, it has coil on plugs system.

thanks for the response! I replaced both down stream sensors and the code keeps coming back. I also did see that they were coils. I’m going to read what you sent

definitely going to get rid of the K & N filter. I want to get rid of the magnaflow exhaust also.

The Magnaflow isn't hurting anything except maybe your ears. You may have a wiring issue to those rear sensors. You should probably be able to find a stock air cleaner in a junkyard.

The magnaflow definitely takes some getting used to lol. I will look into getting a stock air box/cleaner. Going to be tough finding out the wiring issue. It’s one of the last problems I’m trying to solve with the truck. I have a lower ball joint an axle and i purchased a steering arm to install. Love the truck so far!

Ok i used my scanner and it looks like there’s an issue with bank 2 sensor 2. Bank 1 sensor 2 seems to be function fine. The bank 2 sensor never gets over 500 and it fluctuates rapidly

Bad wiring or bad sensor. It shouldn't affect the way it runs, the downstream sensors are only used for cat monitoring.

Change the front sensor on the other side if you haven't done so already.

ok I’ll do that tomorrow and report back with my results. Hopefully this solves the problem. I didn’t see any broken bolts on the manifolds.

A code P0153 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

The oxygen sensor is faulty
The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed
There is an exhaust leak

Things that may fix the problem include:

Check and fix any exhaust leaks
Check for wiring problems (shorted, frayed wires)
Check the frequency and amplitude of the oxygen sensor (advanced)
Check for a deteriorating / contaminated oxygen sensor, replace if necessary
Check for inlet air leaks
Check the MAF sensor for proper operation
Replace the Bank 2 oxygen sensor upstream of the catalytic converter

I’ll check for exhaust leaks. I cleaned the MAF sensor the other day. It’s a k&n MAF sensor that plugged into some type of k&n intake with a cone filter. You think a dirty throttle body could cause it?
