Coolant Leak

I'm replacing the coolant outlet tube (first pic). The one that runs from the back of the water pump, under the intake manifold and connects to one of the heater core hoses. The second pic shows the tube that goes through the water pump housing and the outlet tube connects to.(assuming red cap is for shipping only). How does that short one fit into the water pump housing and how does the outlet tube fit into that tube? Is it just pushed in?

Got my answer. The coolant tube just slips over the short tube that comes out of the water pump. The short tube has two O-rings and the coolant tube is flared to slide over.
