Truck starts, runs, dies every minute
2004 F150 200,000 miles. Runs and drives great. I parked the truck for about 1 month. When I tried to start it, the battery was dead. Charged battery and started the truck and it idles fine, BUT every 60 to 90 seconds it shuts off. Will immediately recrank and run fine, and then die after 60 to 90 seconds. No codes. I can keep the RPMs up and keep it from shutting off, but it still tries to die every 60 to 90 seconds without exception. Anyone have this issue before?
Clean the throttle body.

Also check the FPDM for corrosion on the back side. Change the fuel filter and put some Techron in the gas.

To identify whether the issue is related to the electrical system or fuel supply, a home OBD diagnostic tool that can read live data is necessary. If desired, recommendations for such a tool can be provided.
Getterdun - Which scanner do you recommend? I looked at the forscan and the other with using your phone but its a pain.
Any straight forwatd olug and play type?
Dont mean to highjack at all just thought it would be beneficial as well. Thanks

how's your fuel pressure? that sounds like something that happened with my mustang and it turned out to be the fuel pump

- Would have responded sooner but for some reason I just saw this.
- I use Forscan. Yes, it took some time to get the right OBD device and then set it up. I'd say it was modestly complicated.
- A key reason I got Forscan was to be able to see live data. The cheaper readers just show the codes. With Forscan I can monitor fuel pressure, MAF sensor, and other sensors live. This is invaluable information for troubleshooting.
- One thing that I did wrong at first was to buy a device that was not fully compatible with Forscan. When I realized this I bought VLinker, a device Forscan recommends, which has worked well.
- One more thing, I use a notebook PC with Forscan. Unless things have changed, it won't run on a phone.
