Transmission speed sensor harness??

Hi all,
I have a 07 f150 5.4 rwd. It was shifting hard word just erratic at times so I had a buddy see if any codes with his snap on reader. Nothing.

Took it to the dealership and they said the codes came up were P0715 / P0717 and or P1715 / P1717. Advisors notes said different from the techs.
Anyhow, comes down to the Transmission speed sensor harness. The ohm’s it out and the wires and plug looked good. Plugged it back in and drove it around a good bit. No new codes.
So he said instead of spending $700 for a new one let’s use some dielectric grease on it. Maybe just dirty etc..

Has anyone dealt with a TSS harness before? Thinking about replacing Searched and nothing but every other sensor comes up.

Thanks

May have simply been some dirt or corrosion in the connector.

I'd suggest just putting it on your "watch list" and continue driving it as normal.

FWIW, that advisor sounds like an honest person in that they didn't try to upsell an expensive part.

He is a honest advisor which is rare when going the the stealership.

He also confirmed the typo on the codes.
They 2 that fired are P0717/P0715.

I’m just wandering if anyone has replaced that harness or the sensor it plugs into before.
