Axle ratio change

Quick question
given the price of new trucks I tow a 7k trailer with my 07 F150 5.4l with 3:55 gears 6 times a year and it feels like a dog. I feel it’s under powered, it’s it worth going to 3:73 gears and has anyone changed theirs and seen an improvement in towing. I go in the beach a few times as well.
is it worth spending the $1000 for used rears

It's only worth going to 4.10's, and you have to do both axles if you have a 4wd. You will also need a programmer and tunes to correct the speedo and odometer. SCT programmer and a set of custom tunes from a reputable tuning house such as 5 Star or MPT, with one tune being a towing tune.

I have 4.10s in my truck and it made a huge difference.

If your truck doesn't have a limited slip, now would be the time to add it.

Thanks, I redid the math again on max total weight and I’m at 500 short of the max for this truck.
