Question 08 f150, 4r75e 2wdcan I replace with a 4wd if left in 2 wheel high

I have looked everywhere for info on this and I'm hoping this is gonna be the end of any questions I have. Any info I will greatly be happy to receive and thanks in advance for your help and time into my inquiry.

I have 2, 2wd 4r75e tranny's one original from my 08 and one from I think a 06 for possible parts if needed. I recently purchased as a fix for these two non working transmissions a 4r75e 4wd with transfer case attached to put in my truck. I'm interested in a conversion but right now I just need the truck to run in a huge way as I'm about to lose my job trying to get to work on time. It's a nightmare.

The question is simply two parts:

1. Can I stick the 4wd 4r75e in if left in 2 wheel high and drive it like that as a dummy 2wd without all the conversion costs and actually using the 4 wheel drive? I have the shorter driveshaft to replace the longer original. Or can I turn this 4wd 4r75e Into a 2wd 4r75e to just replace and take off the transfer case and what would I need to do to accomplish this? Is it only an output shaft needing replaced?

2.What is the cheapest option for me because I don't have much money and I am injured but blessed with help from good friends but left in the air with this one. Thanks so much for your time invested into this here.

Measure the lengths of the transmissions. That should tell you something.

To put a 4wd trans in a 2wd you need to swap the output shafts and tailhousings, which requires full disassembly. You can't put the trans and transfer case into a 2wd.

Even if it is already lifted? If left in 2 wheel high and ipht the shorter driveshaft in, ifthe harness for the transfer case and etc is left unplugged as an example, could it possibly work a a 2 wheel drive in the meantime? Why wouldnt it if everything is left in 2 wheel high
