So I have a 2006 f150 with a 4.6l 2wd it has a 4r75e transmission I have been told that 05-08 f series will work 05-08 e series will work and 05 up crown Vic will work but can’t be a police interceptor due to shorter drive shaft is this correct if not what transmission will work in my 06 f150 my dad works at a scrap yard and we get a lot of totaled newer crown Vic’s and Lincoln town cars and e series vans in hardly ever any 2wd f150’s though from 05-08 really need help truck has been down for probably 8 months and need to get it fixed asap

 

Pull one and do a comparison with your transmission. The eseries should work; verify the torque converter has the same amount of studs.
