cruise control

If I feed the removed negative battery wire 12 volts. Wait about 15 to 20 minutes, reconnect the negative cable, the cruise control will function normally. However if the truck sits for an hour or more, when I restart, the cruise will not work. Along with that, the throttle response is slower and requires more pressure, the A/C does not cool and it seems to require more foot pressure to stop the truck. Here is what I have to do to make things work again. If I am driving the truck, shift the transmission selector into neutral, turn off the key, turn the key to "ON", depress the throttle pedal slowly all the way to the floor and then back up. Then turn the key to start, drop in back into gear and continue to drive. Most time that corrects the problem until the truck sits once again. Doesn't anyone out there have any idea what is going on?

cruise control

I was wondering if the KAM [keep alive memory] is not working or not getting a proper signal?
