I tried another F150 Forum but left because too much negative feedback on my build so mainly stick to social media now for any updates on it, I'll go ahead and post my progress to when I first bought my truck to how it is now since I bought it July of last year. I also have two other projects, my first project which is also my first far is a 2005 Ford Mustang V6 Auto that I fully built a 3V 4.6L with forged top and bottom end with a manual swap and a 8.8" rear end that is not street legal as of yet hence California laws.. (moving back to Texas in a couple years ) I also have a 1995 Lexus SC400 that is undergoing a full manual swap, have everything but have yet to start tearing apart my blown auto Trans that I tore up in the canyons. Anyways my 2005 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew has undergone a full overhaul, just recently tore apart the front of the 4.6 to replace the whole timing system as well as putting in a Melling High Pressure Oil Pump and did the suspension but will be redoing it sometime early next year as now I want more clearance, will do a big brake kit in the near future and am currently doing a custom oem center console retrofit if anyone is interested, I also just reupholstered my seats from the nasty torn cloth to full leather and suede from Leatherseats.com and have done a lot of Newer gen mods to my truck, just see how many newer f150 mods you can point out I will also post more pictures of my interior and some custom touches I've done but forgot I got a new phone so will take some new pics
Nice! I repowered my 2008 FX4 with a rebuilt 5.4 and rebuilt transmission last year; both Monster and they have high praise from me. Very happy with the results. Good luck and keep up the posts on the progress.
I had my '07 rust repaired a few years ago. I don't drive it in the winter no more, so it is pristine.
I wish I lived further down south to be able to work on vehicles all year around without running heat during the winter, along with no road salt. I can deal with heat, but cold and snow/ice is another story.
Haha thanks guys, I'm from Cali and plan on moving back to Texas in a couple of years but once I moved back, I plan on doing maybe a coyote swap or doing a 3V 4.6L, for now I just finished mating a 2014 Expedition center console to our 04-08 bench seat style dash (non flow through console) and opted to get the ambient lighting cup holder trim and 2014 F150 floor shifter hence the future engine swap, I am also looking at getting a Raptor style hood since I could not find any pictures online, finally came across one that was on a dealer site, haha who'd guess. I was tempted on waiting for the new 2021+ F150 body conversion for the raptor from McNeil or Fiberworx but I actually love the 04-08 design and feel it's still timeless especially with everything I have in store for it, I'll post pictures of my completed interior and console if anyone's interested but here's the hood I plan on ordering soon
Opted For The Lariat Gauges Over The FX4 That I Personally Liked Better But I Decided To Go With The Lariat Gauges Because The Chrome Rings Match The A/C Vents Better, Also Opted For The Silver A/C Vents Vs The Stock Black and Chrome, But Had Custom Faces Made To Mimic The Lincoln MK LT Gauges and Did Light Blue Needles. I Also Got The Lariat Tan Gauge Trim Panel With The Leather and Wired Up The Info Menu Buttons and Redid EVERY Single LED In My Interior To Ice Blue (HATE The Green) and Dyed My Tan Gauge Bezel To The Factory Grey To Look Like a Premium XLT Which May Have Custom Emblems Resulting In "XLT Platinum" or "XLT Limited"
Did Some Custom LED Back Lighting To All My Door Handles and Footwell Front/Rear
The 2014 Expedition Console Filed Down and Fitted Temporarily For Now, Just Have Some L Brackets With Self Tappers But Had To File The Shifter Trim To Fit The 09-14 F150 Shifter and Have a Trim Bezel Coming Soon To Cover The Shaving Needed and Gaps Around The Floor Shifter
I Also Did a Full Interior Dash Trim Kit With Ebony Wood Grain To Mimic Some New F150's and Repainted All My Light Grey Panels To Look New Again
The Cup Holders Still Work Perfectly and Drop Exactly In The Factory Console Cubby, Didnt Have Any Use For That Useless Bottom Pocket Below The Cup Holder So I Covered It
Got a Custom Color Set For My Seats From LeatherSeats.Com, They Provide The Leather and I Redid My Seats My Self, Opted For Dark Charcoal With Black Suede and Silver Ice Stitching
The Raptor Sidemarkers 'Orange' Front / 'Red' Rears Had To Be Drilled and Had To File The Edges For The Rubber Grommets To Fit But Look OEM and Are Functional Which Was My Goal
Another Reason Which I Know I'll Be Asked HAHA, I Loved My OE Jump Seat But Accidentally Torn The New Leather and Was Gonna Cost a Lot To Replace or Repair So Center Console Was Next, I Do NOT Like The OE F150 04-08 Center Console, Mainly Because Too Plain and The Rear Cup Holders Look Too Much Like Cheeks and Has a Weird Hump Looking From Behind Also To Clear Up, I Can't Afford The Prices Of The New Gen Trucks So Making My Own Plus The 04-08 Is My Favorite Gen!! Thanks Everyone and Hope You Guys Stay Tuned and Are Excited For What's Next To Come!
That widebody Raptor sytle body kit looks great!! I hope you decide to go down that route
Haha I got something very interested and lots of custom body work coming, gonna mold that raptor applique on the tail gate and have new Alpharex headlights coming, raptor style kit is in the works for sure though
