shaking interior rear view mirror

so searching only brought up one post and seems like everyone was referring to the whole mirror (mount included) that was shaking. mine seems to be just the mirror part shaking. wasn't sure if there was a way to tighten it. where my mirror mounts doesn't appear to be any play. but when i'm driving and go over a bump the mirror portion shakes.

anyone else have this problem and come up with a remedy?

I would start by cleaning up with ball and socket with rubbing alcohol. I'm wondering if something greasy got into it like an interior polish or something.

If not, then it's probably one of those cases where you get extremely different height drivers and the mirror gets fiddled with quite a lot. You'll need a new mirror if it's all worn down.

You could also try electric tape on the ball and shove the mirror back on to give it more traction.
