Does anyone know what year 4.6 will fit right in my 05 f150 stx. Vin w so it is a romeo motor. Individual coils. Any info is greatly appreciated.

 

04-06 out of a F150 (excluding a 04 Heritage) is a direct swap. Other years will swap with transferring some parts.

 

Would an 08 work and what would be different? if you happen to know

 

08 should work, but you will probably have to use the 05 intake manifold and possibly a few other parts.

Did this on my 5.4. There is a date code on your engine that tells you month and year of manufacture. You can also contact any of the rebuild places like Monster Transmission and they will steer you correctly. Keep your VIN handy. I had my old engine side-by-side with new to make sure it all lined up. It did. Good luck.
