2008 F150 drive shaft replacement

I have a 2008 F150 and the last 8 of the VIN are "8KE15952". My Carriage Bearing if shot. So... found out I need to buy the whole axel. Problem is mine is a 163" WB but the Diff has 12 bolts and not 10. Every time I go to buy the aftermarket one its calling for the 10 bolt. But all thew sites say this will work in my truck. I am leery to pull the trigger because it says 10 bolt. Can I buy this axle? is there a difference between the 10 and 12 bolt? My axle is a 25 (on the door tag) Hope this makes sense.

Please clarify the issue. The title says driveshaft and the you refer to it as the whole axle? From what I understand if the center support bearing goes bad, the whole driveshaft needs replacement. What engine is in the truck?

Yes the whole axle. Sorry. The carrier bearing went bad and I cannot just buy that part. So its the whole drive shaft (2 parts). The engine is a 5.4 3 valve. Triton. Here's a pic of what I need. Notice it says "10 bolt" mine is a 12 (see picture). I am just curious if this is the right axle. I called the dealer and got the OEM # and its the same as the picture ONLY this pic says 10 bolt...

The 10 bolt axle is a 8.8". Looks like you have a 9.75" axle, confirm by reading the tag under the upper right side bolt. You should see "975" on it. It *might* be a 10.25"axle, if so it will have a "102" (I think) on it. 2WD or 4WD?

Did you give your dealer your full VIN?

Its a 2WD. Ill get under there and look tomorrow. Yes, I gave the dealer the full VIN. According to the dealer the EOS# is 8L3Z4R602H. The pictured part matches that number BUT as you see it says 10 bolt. And as I have looked the 8.8 keeps coming up. I haven't been able to see what mine is. Like I said I will look tomorrow. All I want is the right drive shaft to put in and its turning out to be quite the mystery. I am a novice, but am not afraid to rip into stuff. Ill reply again once I get it.

OK... well sorry this took so long. My daughters Neon needs a brake job which turned into strut replacements as well... and then the Amazon Prime driver got stuck in my yard and I had to get her out. Anyway...

I got under there and the right tag says:
V 102 H
10 10 2 8D16

I have included the picture as well.

Tag picture are of the same tag... just seeing if you can see it better. And the sticker is in the right rear axle.

Any advice? Again... I am trying to find the right drive shaft for this vehicle.

You have a 10.25" axle. You may have to go to a driveline shop and get yours rebuilt.

Yup. You are probably right. I have seen them for sale, but not with the 163" WB. I will keep looking. Just got done doing the timing on this (the 5.4 3 valve...) a few months back, now this.

Thanks for your help!

When I replaced the driveshaft in the '04 I had (same carrier bearing failure as you) there was a label on the driveshaft that had the part number for the shaft. Yours doesn't have that?
