Ticking/tapping 5.4

Hey guys, I got a 06 f150 5.4 3v. This started last Friday when I started my truck in the morning after I ran injector cleaner in the tank. it sounds like someone taking a wrench and smacking it side to side in my valve cover on passenger side and driver side. Later that day vehicle started shaking and got a cylinder 2 misfire. Replaced plug hasn't come back but the sound is still there and gets louder and faster on acceleration, also doesn't go away after warming up or when I unplugged both vct solenoids. I am leaning more towards rocker arms and lash adjusters but I pulled the valve cover off passenger side and the rocker arms are solid and checked the screen on the vct solenoid and it was in good condition. After putting everything back together got a p0010 code found the connector for the vct solenoid had a broken pin slot replaced that and now the p0010 is gone but the sound isn't. Any suggestions to check before I take it to the stealership? Also just did a oil change two weeks ago Mobil 5w30 and motorcraft filter. Replaced passenger side manifold 3 months ago.

Differences

Quick question, how do I tell the difference between a cam follower failing and the cam phaser tick that's constant in my 2005 Triton?
I've gotten used to the cam phaser tick, is the sound a failing cam follower a different sound?

I have between 55% and 65% inherited hearing loss, basically, all engine noises sound alike to me.

The best way is to try and listen to where it is coming from if it's coming from the top of the cylinders probably valve train if it's coming from the front probably phasers. The only really definite way is taking the engine apart to find the issue. Keep in mind these engines have a natural tick from the injectors.

For anyone who was wondering the outcome is seized rocker arm on cylinder 4 which also caused a flat spot on the cam shaft.

Glad you figured it out before more damage was done. I'm assuming a new camshaft and rocker arm will fix it?

You are correct rocker arm seized worked a flat spot on the cam lobe. Replaced both tapping stopped.
