Shift tube replacement

I just recently had my shift tube replaced in my 04 f150 heritage, the tube went easy enough however I'm currently waiting on a new cable. In the mean time I tried to start it but had to jump it. After I jumped it I drove it around and everything seemed fine. Now when I turn it off the pickup acts like the battery is dead and won't turn over. Is this some security feature due to having a broken cable? It currently says its stick in reverse.

What are you working on? We can't see it through the Internet.

Give make, model, year, engine, transmission, etc.

I'm more curious if there is a safety measure when the cables is not connected

The transmission range sensor is also a neutral safety switch. It will only crank in park or neutral.
