It's one of the RFI capacitors.

There are no fuses ever used in such an application.
That's why a fuse panels or inline fuse holders are used.
The coils have a interferance capacitor connected to ground to help eliminate inferference to the radio and other close by wiring from coil spikes.
If they short, a fuse in the panel will blow then you have no coil or injector power. This can be seen in the factory wiring.
Fuses are almost never used in a ground application in any equipment leaving the circuit hot, by design.

Good luck.

Argue all you want to but my answer is correct. This ain't my first day at a rodeo....

If the cap fails by shorting, you will blow fuse F30 and the engine will not run. If it opens, you're probably never know it unless you try to listen to AM radio.

that is a RFI capacitor they are on pretty much all fords including my focus its usually tapped to the engine harness and grounded they burn out blow up dry out and go dead you dont really need it but without it you will get humming on the elctrical my one truck was missing it i found the connector stole one off my old car and installed it and my CB in my truck that was missing it no longer howls/hums to the engine rpm as i drive

as for your intermittent crawl under the truck passnger side and locate your starter and see if the braid coming out of the starter motor to the solenoid is in ok condition they are known to corrode to death as they are high current positives and they are bare so they go bad ALOT and people replace perfectly fine starters because of that braided line

Njjb122,

Get a Haynes, or factory service manual. Then you won't have to post online, wait for who knows how long before you get a satisfactory answer, and you could be fairly sure that it's the correct answer.
