04 FX4 4x4 issue

Hello, it's been a very long time since i've been on here....no issues....YAY!!! Until now , and I hope someone can help me. No issues what so ever with the 4x4 and I noticed today that it is not working as it worked last week. I always engage it once in a while to make sure it works. It is the electronic shift on the go, however, everything seems to be dead. I flip the switch to 4x4H, no lights in the dash. I flip to 4x4L, in neutral with foot on brake, same thing, no lights in the dash....nothing activates. The lights work when I start it as they should...I pulled out the manual, there are 3 fuses inside and 2 relays under the hood. No fuses blown inside, I checked them with an OHM meter AFTER pulling them. The 2 relays under the hood, not sure how to check them other than start the vehicle, engage the 4x4, pull relay, install relay and see if it clicks internally, nothing on either. I can't see 2 relays burning up at once.....so it seems like I have no power to the 4x4 system......any clues?

Check the 4x4 switch on the dash? Maybe it got unplugged slightly or it doesn't work/worn out?

You are doing the right thing by checking the obvious.

Thanks, was thinking in that direction, but it's something that doesn't get used that often. And not exactly sure how to go about getting it out. I will research it first beforehand

Problem fixed, switch is ok, fuses ok and relays ok, turned out to be the transfer case motor.
