2007 Lariat Crerw Cab with 265k miles. you wont believe the great condition

Just bought a 2007 Lariat Crew cab with 265,000 miles and am looking for some guidance on care. Dont have much info on the previous owner and his care of the vehicle. All i know is that every mechanic that I know when they see the truck says did I know about the mileage. Yes I did but it runs so smoothly and the body is in such great shape that the mileage doesw not concern me.

Question: Can I start using a combo synthetic oil at 265k miles. I don't know what type of oil was used previous to my getting the truck, so my question is can or should I start using a combo synthetic oil at this stage.

Sure, you can use any oil you want. Just follow the factory recommendations on viscosity and if I were you, I'd change it often. Keeping the engine internals clean is very important on those VCT engines. I'm assuming it's a 5.4L? If it's a 2 valve 4.6L V8 or 4.2L V6, no telling how long they will last.

The 2007 Lariat had the 5.4 3 valve standard.

My recommendation is Motorcraft 5W20 synthetic blend and a Motorcraft oil filter, change every 3000 to 5000 miles.
