Temp spike then goes down

2006 F150 5.7

Temp spikes. Alarm comes on. Turn vehicle and back on as little as 5 seconds later and temp goes back to normal.

I know there is air in it as it will burp if I open coolant reserve while spiking.

Reman engine put in last year. Prior engine locked up due to oil pump going out.

Two new thermostats. So don’t believe that is the problem.

could it be it be a trashy radiator that has air bubbles from when engine was swapped?

don't seem to be losing any fluid other than when it burps. Trucks runs fine.

Get a test kit for testing the coolant for hydrocarbons and check. You may have a head gasket leak.

Ford doesn't have a 5.7, what do you really have?
